I Am a Child of God
"See what great love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children—and we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know him" - 1 John 3:1
From this scripture we are invited to behold and marvel at the extraordinary love placed upon us by our Heavenly Father. "See what great love..." These words echo with a resonance that transcends the ordinary and invites us into the extraordinary depths of divine love.
As children of God, we are not mere inhabitants of this vast world, but recipients of an immeasurable and boundless love. The title "Children of God" signifies more than a casual relationship; it signifies a familial bond, an intimate connection with the Creator of the universe.
This world may not always recognize us for who we truly are. The values, principles, and priorities that guide us might seem foreign to those who have not yet embraced the profound love of God. It is in these moments of divergence that our identity should become a source of strength and resilience.
Our identity is not determined by the world's standards or approval; it is firmly rooted in the deep love of our Father. The knowledge that we are loved beyond measure empowers us to navigate life's challenges with grace and confidence. It transforms the way we perceive ourselves and others, allowing us to have a spirit of compassion, forgiveness, and unwavering faith.
As children of God, we are heirs to a divine inheritance of eternal life. This truth shapes our perspective and influences our interactions. It calls us to live with purpose, because we are set apart. Do not worry about fitting in when God created each of us to stand out and stand together as the Church.
Take a moment for reflection today. Ponder the depth of God's love for you.
